Blood:Water Mission

Recently I've started supporting Blood:Water Mission and have absolutely fallen in love with their approach to the greatest crisis of our time.

If you're not familiar, Blood:Water was started by the guys in the band Jars of Clay. Blood:Water Mission is committed to clean blood and clean water to fight the HIV/AIDS pandemic, to build clean wells in Africa, to support medical facilities caring for the sick, to make a lasting impact in the fight against poverty, injustice and oppression in Africa through the linking of needs, talents and continents, of people and resources.

I love the way they attack their mission in a completely non-political fashion. It's so important to leave our petty politics behind when we're faced with a situation like this.

I've been working to put together a night to raise awareness and funds for Blood:Water later this spring here in the Seattle area. I'll be sure to post the details as they come in. Meanwhile, if you have any ideas or want to help out, drop me a line.
