Weathering the Storm

Well, we made it to Ohio. We were just in time for the hottest week of the year, lots of rain and a tornado touching down about a mile from our apartment. It was the first time I had ever heard a tornado siren go off. I was quite thrilled by the whole experience, but Karen did not share my enthusiasm.

Needless to say, it's been an eventful week here at our new home in Columbus. We're still trying to find out how we both fit in to this new community of ours. Football starts this weekend, though, so that will add some excitement to the mix!

I'm three days into moving to Ohio. The road is long and relentless, but we're making steady progress. Tonight, we're staying in Kansas City with my cousin who I haven't seen in a while. Tomorrow, we'll make it to Ohio and we'll start the move-in process.

We're anxious, excited and a little overwhelmed. It should be fun.

Killer Moose

Yesterday, I went to the Mariners game with my buddy, Ben, who owns Centerfield Sports (shameless plug). The game was disappointing for Mariners fans (who incidentally sounded as though they were outnumbered). The Red Sox dominated the afternoon en route to a 9-2 victory.

But, not to be outdone, the Moose attempted to take out Coco Crisp on his way out to centerfield in the middle of the 5th inning. If you missed it, here's the clip:
