The fun is finally over

So last week, I received a steel reinforced, locking mailbox on my doorstep. It was a bittersweet sight to see the 45 pound box at my feet as I realized the fun is now over. That mailbox was the third and final consolation prize from my very brief appearance on the Price is Right earlier this year.

Even though I don't, as of yet, own a house, I'm sure I'll find some functional use for this bank safe on a stick. The thing is thicker and heavier than all heck, so I'm sure my Ken Griffey, Jr. baseball cards will find refuge from would-be robbers.

The Prizes Are Rolling In

Yesterday evening, my dinner was suddenly interrupted by a knock at the door. When I went to answer, I was pleasantly greeted by a brand new Shop Vac sitting at my feet.

As a contestant on the Price is Right, no one walks away empty handed. My rewards for a sleepless night followed by making a spectacle of my self on national TV were not just one, but two Shop Vacs AND a locking mailbox. It's a strange combination, but $660 in prizes is a pretty good take for 25 seconds of work.

Now I need to go vacuum out my truck. Maybe my neighbor's truck as well...

My 15 Seconds

My episode of The Price is Right finally aired today. I kept thinking all week, "what if I somehow forgot and I actually got up on stage and won the showdown?" But unfortunately, I don't have severe amnesia. The show played out exactly as I remember it.

I am grateful, though, for my experience. Hearing my name called to, "come on down" was a thrill in itself. Plus, it will make a great ringtone on my cell phone.

So for those of you who missed it, or are gainfully employed, here's the clip:

The Price was Wrong

I'm still recovering from a crazy, albeit short, tour down the west coast. Three weeks ago, Ben and I loaded up the truck and headed south for a short, week and a half tour through California.

It was the longest week and a half trip I've ever been on. I don't say that in a negative way, because nothing bad happened on the trip. It was eventful, yes. Actually, it was probably one of most memorable trips I've ever been on with Threefold.

It started with a small church in Oakdale, CA, continued as we narrowly escaped an avalanche in South Lake Tahoe, and concluded with me being called down as a contestant on The Price is Right. Yes, you read that correctly. My childhood fantasy was fulfilled when I was actually given the opportunity to be on The Price is Right. But alas, I didn't make it out of contestant's row. I was the last one called for the day and had only one chance to bid. I overbid on the manliest Barbecue I've ever seen. It broke my heart. Oh well. We can all tune in on March 27 as the episode is broadcast in all it's glory. I think I made a fool of myself as I came down to the front.
